Random Thoughts on Uncanny Valley

The Good

  • Can be beaten in about an hour and a half.
  • Easy 1000 gamerscore with a guide.
  • Lots of areas to explore to expand the story.
  • Puzzles won’t make you feel overly stupid.
  • 2-D pixilated graphics style looks great and works well.
  • Soundtrack fits the theme perfectly.

The Not So Good

  • Full story only comes together after multiple playthroughs.
  • Dream sequences that don’t really add anything to the narrative.
  • Exploring into most new areas gets you captured and tortured for no reason and with no explanation.
  • First part of game becomes repetitive after doing it a couple times.
  • Save bugs still exist which may halt game progress.

Do You Buy It?

  • If you like games with retro graphics, maybe.
  • If you will use a guide and want a quick completion, yes.
  • If you want a survival horror game with lots of exploration, no.
  • If it’s on sale for $5, yes.

Available on the Microsoft Store for $12.99 (or regional equivalent)

Random Thoughts on Fragments of Him

The Good

  • Minimalistic art style that fits well.
  • Amazing music that draws you into a scene.
  • Touching story. It will hit you in the feels.

The Not So Good

  • Not a game. You just keep clicking the ‘A’ button.
  • Sometimes the pace gets pretty slow.
  • No way to bypass or speed up voice-overs.
  • Story material might be upsetting for some.

Do You Buy It?

  • If you love visual novels, yes.
  • If you want a quick and easy 1000 Gamerscore, yes.
  • If you want a game where you actually control something, no.

Available on the Microsoft Store for $9.99 (or regional equivalent)

Coming in 2017

Not your typical review site.

Seems like everybody has an opinion today and there are a ton of review sites on the web to back that up. I want this site to be different. Instead of a typical lengthy review, I will be posting whatever random thoughts my brain comes up with as I play the game or use the app. And at the end I’ll give you my opinion as to whether or not I think it’s worth your time and money.

I hope to start in early 2017. I can’t wait to hear the feedback from you after I post my first thoughts!
